“…where the vine flowers eternal,
beneath the mountains with naked peaks..."
Col Vetoraz lies on top of the hill of the same name in Santo Stefano di Valdobbiadene
We are in the highest part of the famous denomination of Cartizze, at almost 400 metres above sea level, with a view of the entire zone, delimited to the east by the hamlet of Fol and to the west by that of Sacol.
The Miotto family settled at Col Vetoraz in 1838 and immediately started growing vines (for what are now Valdobbiadene DOCG and Valdobbiadene Superiore di Cartizze DOCG).
For us, growing vines
on the highest point of Mount Cartizze
is an honour
Respect for
an ancient and unique land
The area that produces Valdobbiadene DOCG and Valdobbiadene Superiore di Cartizze DOCG lies in the midst of the hills of Valdobbiadene; the mountains that overlook them shelter the area from the north winds and give the zone the appearance of an immense amphitheatre.
The geological structure of the soil and its deep stratification, produced by ancient seas, provide the terroir for these “gentle” wines.
