Col Vetoraz vintage trend 2019

Col Vetoraz harvest season smells of excellence: there are several factors that lead to making positive predictions on the quality of the grapes.Compared to previous years, in which the flowering of the vine took place towards the end of May-beginning of June, this year has been postponed, arriving around 10/13 June, Sant'Antonio day, a perfect date according to the winemaking tradition, in what seems like being a return back to the roots.

A delay due to a month of May exceptionally cold and rainy, followed by a warm June with low rainfall; yet this did not affect the plant's growth as the soil had already accumulated a good water supply from the previous month. After mid-July the climate continued with an alternation of warm and cool periods and with regular rains that favored a balanced vegetative growth. In the last summer period in August, there were good temperature changes between day and night, a favorable condition especially for white grapes, because it gives the best characteristics of acidity and translucency to the berries.

The harvest for Col Vetoraz officially began on September 23rd: the winery waited for the right balance in the ripeness of the grapes, so that they can offer the best aromatic expression, starting the operations a few days later compared to many other companies in the area, which prefer to harvest the grapes slightly in advance.

These, taken as a whole, are the premises that suggest a quality harvest, however it can only be more explanatory once the harvest is completed.
