Our winery retains part of the property in woodland, through which 750 tonnes of CO2 per year are removed from the atmosphere. A bond, that between man and nature, which represents one of the world’s most topical challenges, but which at Col Vetoraz has been alive for centuries, thanks to a relationship of respect for mother earth.
One of the founding principles of the Col Vetoraz production philosophy has always been the strong identity link with its roots, which are rooted in Valdobbiadene, a land of extreme uniqueness and value. From the land, to the vine, to the glass, every choice has always had a precise objective: to produce excellence. A path made up of challenging choices, even against the tide, where quality has always been an inspiration, always and only achieved through ethical and sustainable behaviour.
The Col Vetoraz estate is preserving 25 hectares of woodland. If we consider that one hectare of forest is capable of eliminating approximately 30 tonnes of CO2 from the atmosphere per year, the choice made by the company contributes to eliminating approximately 750 tonnes of CO2 from the atmosphere per year, equal to the amount produced annually by 125 Italian inhabitants.
Globally in Italy, all human activities (civil and industrial) produce around 6 tonnes of CO2 per inhabitant per year. If we consider that Col Vetoraz has a production chain that employs 25 people, the preservation of its forest area allows the elimination of five times more CO2 than the average amount produced by 25 Italian inhabitants.
Such numbers show how important is, within the company dynamics, the care and defence of the environment, an element that today more than ever must become an essential habit in everyone’s daily life.
