Let us take you on an unmissable sensory experience, which involves smell and taste but also offers unforgettable visual emotions, thanks to a breathtaking panoramic terrace where the gaze sweeps as far as the eye can see over the vineyards sloping down to the valley.
The tasting proposals “Knowing the Valdobbiadene” allow a specific study on the territory and on the entire range of Col Vetoraz wines, which are told in each glass with an unmistakable style, worthy interpreters of the intrinsic nature of Valdobbiadene DOCG, considered as the Welcome wine.
But Valdobbiadene also offers many itineraries to be discovered, dotted with small and large art treasures, perfect for a trekking or a bike excursion. From the town center, Piazza Marconi, you can visit the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta, which houses precious works of art. Continuing along via Piva you will come across Villa dei Cedri, a former nineteenth-century factory surrounded by a large park open to the public. Through Strada Cordana, after a brief stop at the wash house and at the capital dedicated to San Venanzio Fortunato, you reach the small church of San Floriano surrounded by lush vineyards, which offers an amazing view of the valley. Going down, you will come across the ancient hamlet of Ron with its welcoming courtyards and the old fountain.
Also noteworthy is the itinerary of the churches, a path through breathtaking landscapes, between nature and history, such as the small church of Sant’Alberto which for over five centuries has dominated and protected the vineyards of Valdobbiadene. Or the small church of San Gregorio dedicated to the great reformer of the Church and patron saint of Valdobbiadene; an ancient Capuchin convent of composed beauty and a unique seventeenth-century structure still in the area, with particular acoustics.
Another itinerary that you can experience starting from Col Vetoraz is that of sundials and peasant tradition. The ancient sundials decorating the walls of private houses and churches registered in Valdobbiadene are over 30. These time and life measuring instruments are strongly linked to the peasant tradition of this land, in fact they mark the hours of the day but also the seasons of the year marking the various phases of work in the fields.
