Many have asked themselves, many have talked about the choice – apparently revolutionary – to cancel the word “prosecco” from our labels, since 2017, but also from our mentality. We prefer to talk about Valdobbiadene DOCG and we have more than one reason.
The 2020 harvest of Col Vetoraz gave its best in the second half of September. It is the ideal time to take stock of the season, in a truly historic year due to the pandemic, which if it had a significant impact on the sales front, however did not have negative impact on crops, letting nature take its course.
A visit to our winery in this suggestive season, when the scents of the harvest spread throughout the Valdobbiadene area, can become an unforgettable experience also thanks to the breathtaking view from our panoramic terrace overlooking the colors of autumn.

In this first half of 2020, Col Vetoraz Valdobbiadene DOCG’s are still receiving awards! Conscious that the months we have left behind have meant a strong slowdown for the wine industry – in fact the tasting sessions of many wine competitions has been cancelled – we can proudly confirm that after the restart Col Vetoraz palmarès is shining again!
One of the pillars of Col Vetoraz philosophy has always be the strong territorial identity. A path made of demanding choices, even against the current, where quality has always been an inspiration, where excellence always and only comes through ethical and sustainable behavior.
It’s time for new entries among Col Vetoraz Valdobbiadene DOCG’s wines line; we are pleased to welcome Cuvée 5 and Cuvée 13, the result of 25 harvest’s experience. Starting from the 2019 vintage the company has chosen to stay faithful to its main purpose; producing exclusively Valdobbiadene Docg. Now two new Cuvées are ready to be added to the sparkling wines range: the Cuvée 5 extra brut, and the Cuvée 13 extra dry.
The Easter that is now approaching will undoubtely be different and Col Vetoraz invitation is to think positively about the future. Joining the Consortium invitation #sparkleathome, we’d like to suggest you one of our Valdobbiadene DOCG’s ideal for home toasts as well as in pairings, to celebrate the sacrifices that we are making every day, but also to give a positive note to a festive lunch, although for many it will be in a different version.
The well-known wine writer and journalist Rebecca Gibb MW, following a visit to the picturesque towns of Valdobbiadene and Conegliano, analyzed the latest trends of the most famous sparkling wine in Italy and chose the best 20 for the authoritative magazine Decanter, including our Valdobbiadene Superiore di Cartizze 2018.
